The Bricktown Tap Werks management needs to either retrain or fire some their staff.
I used to frequent Tap Werks with my wife on a weekly basis because, 1. we love playing pool, and 2. it is the only place I can find my favorite beer, Belgian Kwak. However, our last two visits have totally turned us off to this establishment.
First, a few weeks ago we went to Tap Werks in the late afternoon to play pool . Since it was still early and the place was virtually empty, the upstairs bar was closed, but the pool table and surrounding area was littered with beer bottles, mugs, etc. We then then decided to take our business to the Bricktown Brewery (much cleaner). When we went downstairs to leave we noticed four female employees just standing around, BSing with each other. Hmmm...don't you think one of them could have been cleaning the upstairs? Remember...the place was dead.
We left Tap Werks to walk down the street, but decided to go back to Tap Werks to just sit downstairs to get a beer. We sat down at one of the bar tables near the bar and waited for about two minutes, watching the four girls continue to BS with each other... they didn't even notice us. When I decided I had enough and we got up to walk out, I looked back only to see one of the girls laughing at us...as if our frustrations were a joke.
Weeks later, on 22 Oct we went into Tap Werks again, this time around 8pm, to play pool. When we went upstairs we noticed a large group hanging around the bar drinking, but nobody around the pool table. However, once again, the pool table and surrounding area was trashed (bottles, cig butts, mugs, etc).
We left Tap Werks for the final time and will NEVER return. From now on, we'll hang out at the Bricktown Brewery, where it is clean and the staff is not only curtious, but responsive.
My advice for Tap Werks-- fire some of your college-aged staff, or just kick their asses until they get a clue.
My advice for the health inspector-- go visit Tap Werks in Bricktown!
